coffee talks

to an overthinker

hi. hmm. I do not know your state now, but one thing I know is that you are (again) tired as the sun sets. You are maybe getting ready for bed now and then wallowing yourself up with things that are not yet happening. You want it to stop, but you can’t. That’s the weird paradox of overthinking. You resolve by thinking about it, trying to fix a thing or two, but then in trying to think it out, you end up in a cascade of thoughts you never want in the first place.

I wish I could touch your mind and tell your neurons to fire accordingly. I want to please those millions of neurons to take it easy. I would add dopamine and enough endorphins to make you function well. But I know I cannot, so I am writing you this letter to tell you something tonight.

You have gone a long way. You are familiar with the pain, maybe? But here, not all pain is painful. Give yourself some time to breathe and consider whether it is worth the misery. Of course, you are so validated to feel whatever feelings you have now, but I just want to say that maybe there is more for you.

And I am genuinely hopeful for you.
Slowly get up, fold that blanket, arrange that pillow, get a cup of coffee and sit outside.

The moon might appear beautiful, and believe me, just like the moon that shines so majestic without noise, so are you.

You can sleep well tonight.

Good job for surviving the battle this far.
You are a brave warrior.
Continue to survive.

Love,
Kryzylle Nicole
